BIEMMEDUE FOR THE CLEANING OF THE NEW VADO GATEWAY IN THE PORT OF VADO LIGURE

Biemmedue "enters" the port of Vado Ligure (SV)

Vado Gateway is the new deep-sea maxi container terminal in the port of Vado Ligure, in the province of Savona, managed by APM Terminals Vado Ligure Spa.

Inaugurated 12 years after the project financing, it is the most important port infrastructure built in Italy in recent decades (with an investment of around 450 million euros) and among the most technologically advanced structures in the Mediterranean, capable of combining high performance with maximum safety for operators.

Vado Gateway is a semi-automated terminal that enhances the competitiveness of the Ligurian and Italian port system as it is able to accommodate and operate even the latest generation "large ships" (ULCS - Ultra large container ships) without restrictions. Vado Gateway also counts on a series of cutting-edge equipment and in particular on a fleet of cranes that operate thanks to the most modern technologies.

The storage yard is fully automated: the ARMG yard cranes are supervised "remotely" so that no person can be present on the yard during operations.

The unloaded containers are recorded by dynamic video cameras installed on the dock cranes, which send the information to the terminal operating system, which allows you to trace the position of each container at any time.

The movement of the containers from the dock to the internal exchange areas, to the apron and to the interface with road transport (exchange grid) takes place through hybrid-powered straddle carriers with operator, who receive instructions directly from the TOS.

Vado Gateway has a highly advanced system for managing truck access through a Truck appointment system. The hauliers reserve their arrival via the web and are automatically recognized by passing through the gate of the terminal (14 highly automated reversible lanes) thanks to an optical reader capable of reading the plate of the vehicle and the number of the container.

This maxi terminal aims to connect the markets of Northern Italy, Switzerland, Germany and north-eastern France with the rest of the world and will be one of the maritime terminals of the "New Silk Road".

BIEMMEDUE enters this new very important Terminal with its professional products
